To be a light on the hill that fosters an atmosphere of healing, purpose, and hope through Jesus Christ to WSU students.
As Catholic Cougs, we share Christ’s compassion for the lost and live with a missionary impulse. Our primary method of evangelization is relational, getting to know other Cougs and inviting them into our lives and community.
We are a community of disciples committed to one another and a shared way of life. This sacrificial commitment fosters an immersive culture that transforms lives.
We intentionally cultivate strong men’s and women’s environments, supporting relationships and vocations rooted in our values.
The ministry of Saint Thomas More centers around the invitation to a personal encounter with Christ and deep conversion through the power of the Holy Spirit.
We seek to grow in the gifts and fruits of the Spirit, living out the holiness and mission received at baptism and confirmation.
At Saint Thomas More, we strive to offer all of our lives as worship, for the rest of our lives.
Our spirituality is liturgical and sacramental, grounded in both personal prayer and communal celebration.
Our core mission is to help college students live as mature disciples of Jesus Christ.
Through authentic relationships, intentional community life, pastoral care, and solid teaching, we walk with students as they grow in holiness and mission.
Since 2026, St. Thomas More Catholic Student Center has launched Missionaries of St. Thomas, a locally rooted initiative forming full-time missionaries for the mission field at Washington State University and beyond.
Missionaries of St. Thomas represents a shift from relying primarily on outside organizations to cultivating missionaries from within our own community. We believe Newman Centers are called not only to receive missionaries, but to raise up, form, and send them—creating a lasting culture of evangelization rooted on campus.
Our missionaries commit a year or more to full-time service, living in community and dedicating themselves to prayer, formation, and outreach. They lead Bible studies, mentor students, organize retreats, and walk personally with others in their faith journeys—bringing the Gospel into the daily life of the university.
More than programs or events, we are committed to forming disciples who can accompany others toward Christ. Missionaries of St. Thomas fosters deep spiritual formation and leadership development, helping students grow into mature Christians prepared for lifelong mission in their vocations, relationships, and work.
Grounded in the witness of St. Thomas More and rooted in the life of the Church, this initiative seeks to establish a sustained missionary presence at WSU. Our hope is not only to serve this campus, but to offer a model that can inspire and equip Newman Centers and parishes everywhere to form and send their own missionaries.
